Is Google Search Dying? How AI Like ChatGPT is Stealing the Show! 💀🔍

For me, Google’s search function is dead. I only use it to find company websites or specific locations now. Sure, Google still has plenty of products I use and is making strides in AI. But I can't help but think back to when we studied Polaroid in university. 📉📷 Polaroid was once the king of instant photography but failed to adapt to digital technology and lost its throne. They made most of their money selling film, and cutting off that huge revenue stream was a decision they just couldn’t make. The rest, as they say, is history.

Searching with Google has become a real headache in recent years. The first few results are always ads, followed by SEO-optimized content that has nothing to do with what I’m looking for. People used to say, “If you’re not on the first page of Google, you might as well be dead,” but honestly, I’ve rarely found what I needed there anyway. 😤

With AI like ChatGPT, things have become so much easier for me. 🧠✨ This has two major reasons for me. First, I get the answer right away and don’t have to sift through websites, ads, or anything else. Yes, Google has tried to present information instantly, but the process still involves Google search, personal search, then finding the information. Now, it’s just search, and the answer is right there. Second, ChatGPT provides more accurate information than most websites or other sources. For example, I now handle almost all my basic tech support issues through ChatGPT—if I have a problem with Microsoft software, I turn to AI. My last experience with personal support took over three weeks and still couldn’t fix the issue, but with ChatGPT, I had it sorted in an hour. 🛠️💬 Honestly, the information I get from AI is often better and more relevant than what I’d find through Google search.

I think AI has completely changed the game for searching information and getting advice, and I would never go back to Google, even with its new enhanced features. 🚀💡 I always recommend that people do 90% of what they currently use Google search for with AI instead, and I just can’t see the current format of Google search staying relevant.

Just a couple of tasks you can do with AI that I used to do, at least partially, with Google:

🔎 Quick fact-checking: Getting answers to factual questions instantly.

📝 Content summarization: Summarizing articles, books, or complex topics.

✍️ Grammar and spell checking: Correcting grammar and improving sentence structure.

📚 Personalized recommendations: Finding book, movie, or product suggestions.

🤔 Complex query answering: Answering multi-step or nuanced questions.

📝 Writing and content creation: Generating articles, essays, or creative writing.

💻 Code debugging and generation: Identifying code issues and creating new code snippets.

🌐 Language translation: Translating text between multiple languages.

📖 Study and research help: Providing explanations and overviews for academic topics.

👨‍🏫 Personalized tutoring: Offering step-by-step guidance for math, science, and other subjects.

So, the question is: what will happen to their revenue stream if more and more people switch to AI? Will they adopt and use a mix of AI, empowered by Google’s search function, and if so, where will they place the ads? 🤔📉 Or am I just crazy?
